Fondly called the "El Classico", the matches between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in Spain is one of the fiercest clashes between rivals. To understand the importance of these matches, one should understand the history behind both these clubs. It is not simply a clash between two of the biggest clubs in Spain; but to many it is still a clash between the oppressor and the suppressor. FC Barcelona is iconic for every Catalan. Barcelona might be in Spain but the Catalans prefer to be out of the fold. If you ever visit Barcelona you would be surprised to see a higher status to the Catalan language than Spanish. The rivalry between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid grew to unimaginable proportion during the era of Dictator Franco. Franco banned the use of Catalan language and hence the matches at Barcelona became the perfect place for Catalans to take their protest to international level. FC Barcelona became true to their identity "More Than A Club" with its progressive ideas. Real Madrid was considered the hot bed of power and was associated with Franco. The rivalry was intensified during the 1950s when the clubs disputed the signing of Alfredo Di Stefano. Di Stefano had impressed both Barcelona and Real Madrid whilst playing for Club Deportivo Los Millonarios in Bogota, during a players' strike in his native Argentina. Both Madrid and Barcelona attempted to sign him and, due to confusion had emerged due to the di Stefano moving to Millonarios from River Plate due to the strike, as both clubs claimed to own his registration. Subsequently, both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid believed that they had signed him. After intervention from the Spanish FA Barcelona backed down and di Stefano moved to Madrid; rumour remains that Barca were forced to act by Franco, but Madrid maintained that they acted voluntarily. Di Stefano became integral in the subsequent success achieved by the Madrid, scoring twice in his first game against Barcelona. With him, Madrid won th e initial five European Champions Cup competitions. The 1960s saw the rivalry reach the European stage when they met twice at the European Cup, Real Madrid winning in 1960 and FC Barcelona winning in 1961. Head on head Real Madrid leads FC Barcelona by 68 to 59. There has been 30 draws in the El Classico till date. The El classico were made fiercer with players defecting from FC Barcelona to Real Madrid. The reception got for Figo when he visited Camp Nou is a prime example. El Classico is a prime business strategy for both these clubs - FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. At the current time, El Classico is nothing more than a marketing strategy for both the team. But still tempers rises with the approach of an El Classico. The Catalan and Madrid based media trumps up the adrenaline every time an El Classico approaches. May be a clash between Pakistan and India could match the match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. But no rivalry at Club level especially in Europe matches th is mega event.

Top Performers of FC Barcelona in 2009

After a torrid season last year, FC Barcelona is looking good to end their silverware drought this season. It did surprises a lot of people when FC Barcelona failed to win any trophies for two consecutive seasons. They had one of the best squad in Europe and still the FC Barcelona side failed to win anything. But Guardiola has revived their hopes with a sterling performance. When it all started even Guardiola wouldn't have imagined that FC Barcelona would be competing for all three cups available this season. The architects of this turn over are: 1) Guardiola - A Coach is good as his players but with Guardiola that statement has to be reversed. He was a legendary FC Barcelona player and one of the stalwarts in the last decade. Between 1990 and 2001 he made 379 appearances for FC Barcelona. He made senior La Liga debut for FC Barcelona on December 16 1990 in a 2-0 win against Cdiz C.F.. Playing as a defensive midfielder, he went onto become a key member of the Dream Team pu t together by Johan Cruyff, providing a local presence in a team made up of mainly Basque and foreign players. He became FC Barcelona captain in 1997. There were many doubters about Guardiola's ability to coach this FC Barcelona side. True to his nature Guardiola on arrival to FC Barcelona announced that he will offload Eto, Ronaldinho and Deco. He revived the team such a way that FC Barcelona is once again playing the best football in continent. 2) Xavi - Puyol might be the captain bu Xavi is the Heart of FC Barcelona. FC Barcelona has produced a lot of little midfielders recently but this Barca player is a tough one. Xavi is a product of FC Barcelona's youth system and has spent all of his footballing life at the Camp Nou since the age of 11. Ironically he replaced Guardiola in his debut match. Xavi is just second to Rexach in terms of overall appearance for Barca. He not only has become the heart of Barca but also the brain of Spanish national side. He was rightly adjudge d as the player of the tournament in Euro 2008. Xavi is that kind of player who is good going forward and while defending. Under Guardiola he has improved a lot and has featured regularly in the score sheet. 3) Lionel Messi - If Xavi is the heart of FC Barcelona, Messi is the brain. Without any doubt Messi is the best player in the world at this moment. His playing style and ability have drawn comparisons to football legend Diego Maradona. Indeed, Maradona himself declared Messi his successor. Messi began playing football at a young age and his potential was quickly identified by FC Barcelona. He left Newell's Old Boys' youth team in 2000 and moved with his family to Europe, as Barcelona offered treatment for his growth hormone deficiency. Making his debut in the 2004-05 seasons, he broke the La Liga record for the youngest footballer to play a league game, and also the youngest to score a league goal. Messi was hampered by injury last season; even then he managed to oversha dow Ronaldo in Manchester United clash. This season he is in tremendous form scoring 33 goals and assisting 14. He also helped Argentina win the Olympic Gold Medal.

In 2011, Messi received international golden ball awards. When he was five years old, Messi began to play in local club and the coach was his father. However, in the age of 11, he got sick for the scarcity of the growth hormones. As a result, this kind of illness can stop the growing of his bones. A club showed interested in his progress, but it was too dear for a club to increase Messi's condition. And in the end, Messi's performance convinced the coach of team to sign with him. And if he was willing to move to Spain, the team will pay for the medical bills. At this matter they went to Europe to start a new life of playing football. Messi was the third person who can take part in football in Barcelona Team in a young age.In order to increase Messi's height, the club had made tremendous effor ts. When he reached to the aim, he went to the people to display both his Barcelona jersey and his another T-shirt which exhibited his backing for kids suffering from the affliction.Outside the field, Messi looks like a neighbor big boy. His manner is humble. He never gossip with anything or anybody. All his teammates like him, which makes everyone wants to play with him in the football match. In this condition, Messi is subject to the most care player. He can do a good job which is involved in several difficulties. He has a steel general body. Messi only has lag spike and toothed wheel. People can't compete with him. Messi's success comes from his hard working. However, he doesn't have a remarkable strength and physical fitness. His stature and the technical integrity make him to suit on the field many kinds of position. He is so smart that he can destroy any o bstacles in front of him. The coaches and his friends praised him with unselfish quality.

FC Barcelona Players: Lionel Messi

If any player can be said to be the natural successor to Diego Maradona, then surely it must be Lionel Messi.

Born in 1987, he signed for Barcelona from Newell's Old Boys of Argentina at 13 years of age, and since that time Messi has been marked for super stardom. But for a niggling succession of injuries, he surely would have been a Ballon D'Or winner by now.

What has always singled out 'Leo' as being special is his ability to dribble at speed with the ball under perfect control. Although primarily a winger, he can play more central or even deeper but, whatever his position, when he has the ball at his feet, the fans always expect something special from him.
Since scoring his first league goal for Barça in May, 2005 Messi has become a talisman for the team - his modest attitude off the pitch and his constant praising of the work of his team mates ensuring that the fans always hold him in the highest esteem.

Life wasn't always easy for Messi, though, despite his prodigious talent. As a youngster, Lionel suffered from a growth preventing hormonal disorder - Barcelona helped tempt him to Spain by paying for his medical treatment. This short stature, ironically, has enabled Leo to have that low centre of gravity that enables him to weave through defences.

Despite being wooed by the Spanish national team, Messi has always been eager to represent the country of his birth - he was voted player of the tournament in the Under 20 World Cup in 2005, where he was also top goal scorer. In the 2007 Copa America he was voted young player of the tournament. He was not afraid to let it be known how desperate he was to represent Argentina in the 2008 Olympic Games and although Barcelona appeared reluctant at first to release him, he ultimately helped Argentina win the gold medal - creating the only goal of the final in the process.
Playing for the national team hasn't brought constant success, however. On his international debut, against Hungary in 2005, Messi came on as substitute in the second half and was sent off 40 seconds later - allegedly elbowing the defender who was tugging his shirt to hold him back. Then, in the 2006 World Cup, Pekerman, the coach, was the subject of immense criticism from fans because of his seeming reluctance to play Messi in what was, for the Argentines, a disappointing tournament.

And those Maradona comparisons? Well, the great man himself did say at one point that Messi was his natural heir. And if you want to see a carbon copy of the 'hand of God' goal then search on You Tube for Messi's 'goal' in June, 2007 - against Espanyol in a local derby, would you believe!

While you're there, though, remind yourself as well of the goal against Getafe in the Copa del Rey, when the little maestro picked the ball up and ran through just about the whole te am to round the keeper and score. If that doesn't bring back memories of Maradona then nothing will.

Despite the comparisons, Lionel Messi isn't the second Maradona. A modest, cool-headed, softly-spoken personality, Lionel Messi never seems to find himself in the gossip columns. Instead, he just gets on with the job of trying to be as good a footballer as he can be: and that is as good as any forward player in the world game.

Lionel Messi is a great player in his own right. And he can only get better.

Messi Becomes Barca's Highest Paid Player - Sports - Soccer

Argentinean national team's soccer uniform number 10, Lionel Messi made history recently when he signed a new contract with club Barcelona that makes him the highest paid player in the squad ever...Barca's president, Joan Laporta, was thrilled to make the deal official, "Leo should be the highest paid player in the squad. He deserves it. He's the best player in the world and one of the best in football history. He's content and that's why he's playing the way he is". Leo joined Barca as a youth team player back in 2001 during which he won a host of trophies. He also played a leading role in the club's recent unprecedented title treble - the Primera Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League. Scoring 38 goals in the three competitions, and helping with 16 assists, Messi is now a popular choice to succeed Cristiano Ronaldo as FIFA World Player of the Year this December.

The striker's contract with Barca was to expire in 2014, but he signed a new one that keeps him with the club until 2016, which will probably be the best years in his career. Ending all speculation, Leo claimed, "I want to spend all my career here, in Barcelona, if it's possible. I would love to finish at Barcelona. This contract is a result of everything that happened last year and of what I have done since coming into the first team. I am simply one more person in this spectacular group of players, where there is a team that is very nice, very united and in which I am simply part of continuing to win things". According to the new deal, Messi's release clause increases from 150million Euros to 250million Euros.

Laporta declared, "This is the best news Barca can receive today. It is important to have a player with his human qualities and his football ability. This deal recognizes all that he gives to Barcelona. It is impossible to imagine the team without a player like Messi. We expect Leo to retire here with Barca." This announcement was expected for some time now and coach Pep Guardiola joined in to express his delight, "It's an immense piece of news for the club and for the player that Messi is renewing his contract, as it also was when Victor Valdes and Xavi did so. People go to football to see the best and that's what they are. It's a privilege for Barca to have some of the best footballers like Messi."

Next on the club president's list is captain Carles Puyol, whose services he also hopes to retain at Camp Nou. There have been rumors that the captain is not too happy ever since Barca acquired Ukrainian defender, Dmytro Chygrynskiy. Laporta asserted, "I am convinced that Puyol is keen to end his career at Barca. But I also understand that a player of his age examines the possibility of having an experience outside of Spain." Let's see how the cookie crumbles over the next couple of months...

Is Every Soccer (Football) Player Unique? - Entertainment - Gambling

Everyone possesses their own personality and own approach to Football. Some can be the more calm, relaxed and casual players such as the Dennis Bergkamp's of Football. In comparison, you have the Roy Keane's and Graeme Souness's who are completely the opposite, full of aggression, never say die attitude. Every decade brings a new player, a new dimension to Football. Pele the star of the 60's, Maradona the 70's, Johann Cruyff of the 80's, Ronaldo of the 90's, Zidane of the 2000's and the recent stars of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi bring the reputation of football to a sensational point.

1960's - 2011 comparison (Pele)

There is no doubt that Brazilian striker Pele was the best player of the 1960's. Pele and Maradona are the two players who are always mentioned when the common question is asked, 'Who was the best player to have ever lived?' Pele will often be the answer. So what was Pele like? Pele was a natural goal scorer, the Santos striker was incredibly athletic and his dribbling/balance combination was unstoppable for defenders. His ability to go past defenders at such speed and maintain such balance credited him with many goal scoring opportunities, which more likely than not Pele would score emphatically. Pele had technique, the passing ability of a central midfield maestro, the engine of a Marathon runner and the power of a steam train. His statistics are sensational, 1281 goals in 1363 games.

No one can live up to Pele's name; Manchester United's George Best in the 70's was a similar type of player to Pele but was more a winger than a forward. In the modern era, few have been compared to Pele but none have lived up to the reputation that Brazilian Pele possessed. Alexandre Pato of AC Milan was tipped to be the Pele of this era, but he has to yet to show any phenomenal form to even label him the one of the best strikers today let alone ever lived. Manchester United's Wayne Rooney is the closest of this decade that we have compared to Pele. Rooney possesses the same power and physique that Pele does, the same ability to pick out a 70 yard cross field ball and the same vision and technique. England striker Rooney just doesn't have same amount of pace that Pele did which combines with the factor that Rooney doesn't particularly go past players with skill and flair.

Wayne Rooney has scored goals that you wouldn't think were possible with the stunning volley against Newcastle and the recent potential goal of the season overhead against rivals Manchester City. Pele scored stunning goals in the 60's and 70's for Santos and Brazil, one 'nearly' goal that would've been one of the greatest goals of all time. His dummy against Uruguay that left the keeper for dead when the ball went one way and Pele went around the other way, but his shot off balance and on a tight angle just went wide.

1970's - 2011 comparison (Johann Cruyff)

Johann Cruyff was part of the Ajax side that inherited the 'total football' philosophy introduced by Dutch coach Rinul Michels. Former Barcelona and Ajax front man Johann Cruyff's style of play was influenced by the total football approach he conducted to his game. His natural position was centre forward but because of the tactical way the Ajax side played the game, he roamed around and ended up playing on the wing and central midfield more often than not. The Holland striker spent half of the 1970's at Barcelona for Rinus Michels, where he was crowned European Footballer of the Year at his time at Barcelona in consecutive years.

Cruyff was dubbed the 'Pythagoras in boots' because of his ability to pick out passes from angles that looked impossible. Not only did he have an eye for a pass but he had tremendous speed and his ability to accelerate away from defenders which was helped by the 'Cruyff turn' named after the Dutch maestro is still a turn associated with football 40 years later.

I don't think any striker could grace Cruyff's ability to play in multiple positions to maximum effect so I've chosen a playmaker and speed merchant who would grace Cruyff's technical and physical attributes to his game, Ryan Giggs. Both players in their prime had the ability to go past players with flair and tremendous pace creating goal scoring opportunities. Giggs isn't as prolific as Cruyff as a finisher but Giggs certainly lives up to the playmaking abilities that Cruyff possessed. Ryan Giggs in his prime was lightening over 5-10 yards and could maintain such frightening pace for 40-50 yards which he shared with Cruyff.

However as football has changed much over the years since Cruyff's successful days at Ajax and Barcelona, the style of play has changed and there aren't many similar type of players of Cruyff's calibre that could play naturally upfront and drop back deeper and still be extremely effective.

1980's - 2011 comparison (Diego Maradona)

Maradona or Messi? There is no doubt that of today's game, Lionel Messi is the nearest if not potential candidate to surpass Maradona's ability as a footballer. Former Barcelona striker Diego Maradona along with Pele is one of the best players to have ever graced this planet. He wasn't as clinical as Pele but taking nothing away from Maradona he still had a very good goal scoring record for club and country. The style of play on the ball for Maradona and Messi is identical. They both dribble with extreme pace and a very low centre of gravity; they both possess extreme dribbling skills with the ability to have 5-10 touches in the space of seconds to make it impossible for defenders to tackle. Many have questioned whether Lionel Messi could do what Maradona did at Napoli. Maradona won what is now the Italian 'serie A' with Napoli with what was a very average squad, Maradona being the pivotal part of the Napoli side and no doubt wouldn't have been title winners if Maradona wa sn't on their books. Could Messi do a similar fate at Blackburn of the English Premiership, Udinese of the Italian Serie A? Many doubt whether Messi could.

In contrast Messi has achieved a lot more than Maradona at this age having already won the Spanish La Liga 4 times and Champions League 2 times. Messi is only 23, Maradona at 23 won the treble with Barcelona in 1983 and an Argentine title with Boca Juniors in 1981 but that was it. So Messi so far has had a better career on silverware success but Maradona's achievements at Napoli and on the international arena set him aside to Messi. Infamously, Maradona also has a World Cup to his name in 1986 which Maradona made his name.

There is no doubt that Barcelona winger Messi scores goals from all sorts of angles and all sorts of scintillating runs but Maradona's second goal against England in the 1986 World Cup has been regarded as the goal of the century by many people. Maradona travelled with the ball 60 metres and took on six English players in the process, rounded England goalkeeper Peter Shilton and scored from a tight angle to beat England 2-1 in the quarter finals of the 1986 World Cup which they went on to win. The ex-Napoli striker also scored the very controversial 'hand of god' goal in the same game which has been spoken about ever since. Messi hasn't really shined on the international stage and if he does, it might be what takes him past his boyhood hero's status.

1990's - 2011 comparison (Ronaldo)

He was a natural goal scorer of his era and by far the best striker in his generation for simply scoring goal after goal. Ronaldo played at the highest level through the 90's and early 00's, he represented PSV, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and AC Milan in an illustrious career that was disrupted by serious knee injuries. Brazilian striker Ronaldo was a born goal scorer, he had the ability to go past players with his skill and power but defiantly his threat was in the box. He scored 62 goals in just under 100 appearances for Brazil and has been voted Brazil's best ever striker since Pele by numerous judging panels. Former Real Madrid striker Ronaldo was indestructible, if he got in the box it was inevitable he was going to score.

As Ronaldo has still being playing till quite recent, there hasn't been long for anyone to potentially replace Ronaldo's prowess for being a known goal scorer. However, there a few players that this season in world Football has started to develop their reputation. Javier Hernandez of Manchester United is one striker that could have the potential to live up to Ronaldo's abilities in front of goal. He already has 16 goals for Manchester United in his first season and is a predator in the box similarly to Ronaldo. It's doubtful whether Mexican forward Hernandez will have the impact on world football that Ronaldo did, but the Mexican is a very similar striker to what Ronaldo was in his prime.

Barcelona's David Villa is another striker who is known for his potential in the box. Spanish hit man David Villa has earned his trade at Valencia for several years and finally sealed a move to Barcelona where he already has 21 goals to his name. Villa has also lived up to Ronaldo's international reputation, having already won the European Championships in 2008 and the World Cup in 2010 with Spain being a key member of the winning side in both tournaments with his contribution of goals.

2000's - 2011 comparison (Zidane)

One of the most gifted players of this century was French midfielder and former Juventus/Bordeaux midfielder Zidane. One of the most natural players at playing the game, Zidane glided through the game in a nonchalant manner that saw him one of footballs most composed players ever to have graced the game. An out and out central midfielder, Zidane possessed a goal scoring ability from midfield and also the ability to craft out magic in midfield to launch attacks for his side.

Zidane joined Real Madrid from Juventus in 2001 for a world record fee at the time of around 50 million pounds. Zidane enjoyed success in Real Madrid, winning the Champions League and the Spanish La Liga in his 6 years at the club. Not to mention becoming a World cup winner with France in 1998 and a runner up in 2006. Zidane was a tall, strong midfielder at 6'1 he was no fool at defending and wasn't afraid to challenge for an aerial battle but Zidane came alive in the attacking half and his deft touches on the ball and he seemed to have eyes in the back of his head at times with his awareness of space around him.

Not many footballers have composure as a skill to their game because of the extreme amounts of pressure footballers are put under and now with all the money at stake. However, Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov is one of very few footballers that possess superb composure on the ball which is a very gracious skill to have. Bulgarian striker Berbatov and French midfielder Zidane also share the same style of control and first touch, with Berbatov having one of the greatest techniques in the world today similarly to Zidane in his prime. Although ex-Tottenham striker Berbatov is an out and out forward and Zidane never played upfront, the abilities they both have are very similar. Even their mental approaches are very alike, both are very quiet and don't particularly talk much when competing competitively. Both have tremendous control on the ball, both have the ability to go past players with the skill on the ball rather than speed or strength.

Great players are easy to come by; it's the magical players that are hard to come by. Who's going to replace Barcelona's Messi's or Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo's of today's game in a few years? Football has the ability to produce stars to show on the world stage which is what makes football such an amazing sport to watch.

"It could have been worse, but in the dressing room the doctors ruled out a break."Messi has been lucky because in the images it looks as if he has done more damage than he has.''But Guardiola does not believe Ujfalusi set out to deliberately injure his player."I don't think Ujfalusi went out to injure Messi - it happens in the world of football,'' he said."The Atletico player was moving fast and I don't think there is a bad intention - these things happen and I have no complaints about the injury.''Guardiola now has the tricky task of replacing the world's best player and the Barca coach admits that is impossible. "Leo is irreplaceable,'' he said."But we'll move forward. Now he needs to recover from his ankle injury. He has some other knocks and we want him to get better properly."If he is all right, he will travel with us for the (Champions League) game against Rubin Kazan (next week).''With Messi sidelined, Guardiola is likely to promote Andres Iniesta to a forward role on the left and start with Pedro on the right-hand side of the club's three-man forward line. However, with a league match coming up away to Athletic Bilbao at the weekend and a trip to Russia also looming in midweek, the Barca coach may decide to rotate his squad. Whoever ends up starting, the Barca coach believes he has the measure of Sporting."Since (Sporting coach) Manolo Preciado has been there we have played them four times,'' he said."They usually do the same things and I know him well. Every team has their peculiarities and we will try to win the three points.''Having surprisingly lost at home to promoted side Hercules in their last Primera Division match at the Nou Camp, Barca have six points from a possible nine and are currently in sixth place, three behind leaders Valencia and just one adrift of bitter rivals Real Madrid.Sporting have four points so far, but were pegged back from 2-0 up by Bilbao at home on Saturday and lost their only away match 4-0 to Atletico on the opening weekend of the season. Striker Nacho Novo has a hamstring injury and will miss the trip to the Nou Camp. The former Rangers forward will also be absent for the club's next match, against Valencia this weekend.Preciado is set to rotate his squad and may rest several of his players for the Nou Camp clash. It is hard for Nike to choose Spain, which is the World Cup champion

World Cup champion was born-Spain. Sounds a little incredible? Many people always think Holland will win, but in fact after Holland bid farewell to Argentina, their luck is over. In football field, it is football players match, however, after match, it is the competition of famous brands. Nike believe C Lo win, but failed. Adidas trust Messi who is main of Argentina, a little disappointed. Maybe it is hard for them to choose Spain, which is not particularly outstanding team performance in World Cup.

A little superise that Rooney, England's main player worn golf shoes in football field. Wayne Rooney is the key member of English team in this Fifa World Cup. It has emerged that Rooney's golf shoes carried a rather indelicate four-letter message. On one foot are scrawled the words "FCUK U" and the name "Floyd" on the other. No explanation has been given for the slogan, but it is possibly some form of in-joke. However, a spokesman for the clothing chain French Connection UK said last night: "We are happy Wayne Rooney is supporting us." Capello had a "quiet word" with Rooney after that outburst to remind him of his responsibilities as a football international and the referee for the US match even boned up on swear words Rooney might have used. Stars who wearing Soccer Shoes may focus reporters' flash, but Rooney a very smart star remain in World famous newspapers.

It's no surprise that Lionel Messi, FIFA 2009 Player of the Year and arguably the best player in the world, has taken to the field in a succession of top-class football boots. Messi has become synonymous with Adidas, featuring at the forefront of the manufacturer's advertising campaigns. In first time, Messi is not cooperation with Adidas. In 2005, Messi rejected a deal to extend his contract with Nike. Adidas certainly make some great boots, perhaps a temptation for Messi to make the change. Like the Nike Mercurials worn by Cristiano Ronaldo, the Adidas Tunit line has been developed for quick players. Lightweight but relatively strong, these are the boots that helped Lionel Messi on his way to an Olympic gold medal, the Ballon d'Or and the 2009 FIFA World Player of the Year award. As a very good players, it is a little sad that Messi without scoring a goal kick. With he supported the Spanish, without change that Adidas Soccer Shoes will be substantial increase in sales.

By comparison, Nike's new Mercurial Vapor Superfly II is the most expensive boot on the modern retail market, all because C Lo, the most expensive football player in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo has newly joined the Real Madrid; after leading the Manchester United until the Champions League finals against Barcelona where the Man Utd lost, Ronaldo's popularity was starting to decrease in the English Premier League. After being signed by Real Madrid, Ronaldo is also one of the best soccer players in the world, widely known for his goal scoring techniques and accurate striker's shots. Nike players wearing our product on the pitch on football's biggest stage is a huge advantage for Nike brand. It is no surprise why Nike cooperate with C Lo. But analysts estimate Nike may add US$500 million in revenue thanks to the World Cup. With colorful Nike Football Shoes, Nike will become the champion of World Cup.

Lionel Messi Emerges FIFA World Footballer Again

Argentine national and FC Barcelona midfielder Lionel Messi has once again been voted FIFA World footballer of the year for the second consecutive year following his exploits in both his club side and national team. The mercurial attacking midfielder has been instrumental to Barca's superlative runs in both the La Liga and the UEFA Champions' league in the past 5 years. His speed, dribbling skills and brilliant passes have no doubt contributed in great measures to the success stories of FC Barcelona. He assisted the former champions to the semi final stage of the UEFA Champions' league last season; and also played a significant role in their emergence as the La Liga champions. He also played a significant part in his country getting to the quarter final stage of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. This wonder kid has kept improving since he made his mark at the World Youth Championship in the Netherlands in 2005: he has not looked back ever since. Now he is beginning to rub shoulders with the great names in soccer history - Arantes De Nacimento (Pele), Zinedine Zidane, Louis Nazario DeLima (Ronaldo), Manco Van Basten, Ronaldinho, etc. When he took the world by surprise in 2005, a lot of people had concluded that his performance then was a flash in the pan; but today he has proved all his critics wrong by adding titles upon titles to his coffers.Winning the World Footballer award back to back is no mean feat: only few footballers have actually been able to achieve that. Messi has been able to get to this enviable level as a result of his discipline and cool-headedness. He has not allowed pride to come into him; he has not allowed his achievements to go into his head. This is no doubt a deserved victory. That the world voted overwhelmingly for him in preference to Cristiano Ronaldo shows that his success was truly great and convincing. He proved himself in the field of play; he made an impact as a player and as a team member. With age on his side, L ionel Messi may go ahead to surpass the records of Pele, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, Diego Maradona, Manco Van Basten, etc. He has already surpassed some of the records of these soccer greats by winning the Olympics soccer medal and the FIFA Club World Cup.The way he is playing this season, he may just end up winning the award for the 3rd consecutive year. He has scored several goals already and provided about 15 assists in the La Liga. He has remained consistent in both the league and the Champions' league as well. The world celebrates with you on your achievement as the current World Footballer of the year. We wish you many more years of soccer achievements. More kudos to you, Lionel Messi.
